Product Design

Subject Description

Product Design provides exciting opportunities to design and
make useful products that satisfy a real need. Products can
be made in Resistant or Graphic Materials depending on the
option followed. In either option students will develop a
knowledge and understanding of industrial manufacturing
techniques used to produce various products. Both options
make extensive use of the sixth forms excellent ICT and
CAD/CAM facilities. The assessment for the course involves
examinations and coursework projects. Both options have
the same structure although the content of the examination
differs according to the option.

There is a wide variety of careers and university courses
available to students, for example:

• All types of Engineering;
• Architecture;
• Draughtsperson;
• Stage and Lighting Design;
• Product Design;
• Graphic Designer;
• Advertising.
