Government and Politics

Subject Description

For many students Government and Politics will be a new
subject and therefore provides a fresh educational experience.
Studying Government and Politics will give you a knowledge and
understanding of how two of the most powerful political systems
in the world operate. You will gain an insight into how modern
democracies work and how they impact on current domestic and
world affairs. This is a dynamic and modern subject which builds
essential skills in analysis, forming arguments and communication
(both written and spoken). If you have an interest in what is going
on in the world today and what your role is within it, then this
contemporary subject is ideal.

Future Destinations:

Government and Politics is a highly regarded A Level with
Universities and employers. It demonstrates that you have
an interest in and an understanding of current affairs and the
analytical and communication skills to reach reasoned judgements.
It is a valuable qualification for those wishing to enter into a whole
host of occupations including: Law, the Civil Service, Education,
Business Management, Accounting, Marketing, Police Force etc.

Grade 5 English, Grade 4 Maths

Extra Curricular Activities:

Annual trips to Houses of Parliament, visiting speakers, links with local M.P, student conferences as available.
