During your two year linear course at TWSF you will not only learn essential knowledge about the living world but you will also come to understand how society makes decisions about biological issues and how biology contributes to the success of the economy and society as a whole. You will develop and demonstrate a deep appreciation of the skills, knowledge and understanding behind the scientific advances within biology in the 21st century.
BTEC Level 3
The world needs Scientists, not just Doctors or Rocket Scientists but people with technical ability and practical skills. Applied Science is not about your ability to score high marks on an exam paper on one day at the end of the year. If you really want to understand the causes of the wonderful world around us, Chemistry provides some very important clues.
Physics is the explanation of how the universe works, from the whole Universe itself down to the smallest particles of matter. Discoveries in Physics have been at the heart of most advances in Technology. It is an exciting, fascinating subject which requires an enquiring mind and clear, logical thought. Knowledge of the principles of Physics helps us to understand our environment and rewards students with a deeper understanding of the way the universe works. The course involves theory, application alongside experimental investigations which extend your practical skills and lead to a practical qualification which is essential for further study of Physics at University. The course also allows students to develop a range of other skills that are highly regarded by universities and employers.
At Thomas Whitham A Level Physics is the new AQA linear course and exams are taken at the end of year 13 only.
