Former TWSF student Lisa Ashworth is to perform her one woman show at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The play “Roman Candle” was first performed at The Royal Court Theatre in London in 2016 and before airing the show at the world’s biggest arts festival in August, Lisa is putting it on in Manchester for 2 nights later this month. Here’s a little bit about the show and check out the link below.
Twenty-two-year-old Angie is living a life she never signed up to. Caring for her mum and working a job she doesn’t like. Too long she’s been forgotten and ignored. But not today. Today she’s going to be seen.
Created as part of the Royal Court’s Open Court 2016, Grace Gummer (Trainee Director 2016-17, Royal Court) directs the World Premiere of this searing monologue from the writer of the “undeniably skilful” radio play Suspicious Minds (The Stage). Roman Candle is produced by Voxie and supported by Arts Council England.
Break a leg Lisa..
